ABOUT
Violinist Ariadne Daskalakis pursues an international career concertizing on modern and baroque violin and mentoring young professionals. She performs as soloist and has extensive experience leading chamber orchestra projects. An avid chamber musician, she has created festivals in Italy and the US, and performs regularly with chamber music partners and ensembles. Informed performance practice is one of her passions, as are interdisciplinary projects. A specialist in performance practice ranging from baroque to modern, she was hailed by German MDR Radio as a “universal specialist”.
Violinistin Ariadne Daskalakis konzertiert international auf barocker wie moderner Violine als Solistin und Kammermusikerin. Sie leitet Festivals, Ensembles und Projekte und ist Mentorin und Violin-Professorin. Informierte Aufführungspraxis gehört zu ihren Leidenschaften. Sie wurde zur "Universalspezialistin" vom MDR gekürt.
Η βιολονίστρια Αριάδνη Δασκαλάκης ακολουθεί διεθνή καριέρα ερμηνεύοντας πάνω σε μοντέρνο και μπαρόκ βιολί ενώ ταυτόχρονα αποτελεί μέντορα για νέους επαγγελματίες. Εμφανίζεται ως σολίστ κι έχει μεγάλη εμπειρία ως εξάρχων ορχήστρας μουσικής δωματίου. Ως ενθουσιώδης μουσικός δωματίου, έχει δημιουργήσει φεστιβάλ στην Ιταλία και τις ΗΠΑ και συμμετέχει μέχρι σήμερα τακτικά σε συναυλίες με συνεργάτες και σύνολα μουσικής δωματίου. Ένα από τα πάθη της είναι η ενημερωμένη ερμηνευτική απόδοση, όπως επίσης και η διεπιστημονική προσέγγιση των έργων. Η ίδια αποτελεί σπεσιαλίστα στην ερμηνευτική πρακτική έργων που κυμαίνονται από το μπαρόκ έως το μοντέρνο, καθώς χαρακτηρίστηκε και από το γερμανικό ραδιόφωνο MDR ως “universal specialist” (καθολικά ειδική).

CONCERT PROJECTS
Current projects include the complete traversal of the solo works for violin by J.S. Bach and recital programs with Joonas Ahonen, piano. Ariadne Daskalakis is collaborating with the publisher Wiener Urtext Edition on a new edition of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas and performs the complete Sonata cycle.
Ariadne Daskalakis is Artistic Director of the Palazzo Ricci European Academy of the Arts in Montepulciano, Italy. The academy is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026. Ariadne Daskalakis opens the season with Michael Borgstede, harpsichord, and Alumni of the Academy, on March 6 at the HfMT Cologne, performing works by Bach, Purcell, Couperin, Sadikova and Stravinsky.
She founded the Chamber Music Festival "Music from Land's End Wareham" in 2012, and has collaborated with the Bach Virtuosi Festival since its inception in 2016, in Portland and NYC. She is a founding member of Ensemble Vintage Köln.
Aktuelle Projekte umfassen die Werke für Violine Solo von J.S. Bach sowie Rezitale mit Joonas Ahonen, Klavier, und die gesamten Violinsonaten von L.v. Beethoven.
Ariadne Daskalakis ist Künstlerische Leiterin der "Palazzo Ricci" Europäische Akademie der Künste Montepulciano. In 2026 wird das 25. Jubiläum der AKademie gefeiert. Ariadne Daskalakis eröffnet die Saison mit Michael Borgstede und Alumni der Akademie am 6. März im Kammermusiksaal der HfMT Köln.
Sie gründete 2012 das Kammermusikfestival "Music from Land's End Wareham", welches im Juli und August stattfindet. Mit dem Bach Virtuosi Festival arbeitet sie eng zusammen seit der Gründung 2016, in Portland (ME) und New York City. Sie ist Gründungsmitglied des Ensembles Vintage Köln.

PEDAGOGY
Ariadne Daskalakis is Professor of Violin at the Cologne Conservatory of Music and Dance (HfMT Köln), where she mentors young professionals. In her artistic work and her pedagogy she focuses on historical performance practice, ranging from baroque repertoire to contemporary music. Her students have been awarded prizes in international competitions and positions in fine orchestras (see "More" for details!)
In April 2026 she gives a Masterclass at the Academy Musicalta in Paris. LINK to Masterclass Information
In August 2025 she served as Juror at the Tibor Varga Int'l Violin Competition. In September she is giving a Master Class for violin at the Academy "Palazzo Ricci" in Montepulciano.
Ariadne Daskalakis ist Professorin für Violine an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. Dort bildet sie junge Berufsmusiker*innen aus. Darüber hinaus gibt sie regelmäßig internationale Meisterkursen.
Ein Schwerpunkt ihrer künstlerischen und pädagogischer Arbeit liegt in der Entwicklung der historischen Aufführungspraxis, vom barocken Repertoire bis zur zeitgenössischen Musik.

Uno dei punti focali del suo lavoro artistico e pedagogico è lo sviluppo dell’esecuzione storicamente informata, dal repertorio barocco alla musica contemporanea.

Η Αριάδνη Δασκαλάκη είναι καθηγήτρια βιολιού στην Ακαδημία Μουσικής και Χορού της Κολωνίας (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln), όπου καθοδηγεί νέους επαγγελματίες.
