Bach Virtuosi Festival Portland & NYC, MAY & JUNE 2026

On Tuesday May 19, the New York concerts 2026 finale will include the Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and the "Coffee Cantata"

The core instrumental ensemble includes Emi Ferguson, flute, Ariadne Daskalakis and Renée Jolles, violins, Jessica Troy, viola, Nathan whittaker, cello, Pablo Kennedy, bass and Arthur Haas, harpsichord. Thanks also to Jessica Wu for joing us for a beautiful Concerto for 3 Violins BWV 1064R on May 12! And bravo to the gorgeous choral ensemble led this season by soprano Emily Donato!

As Artistic Director Ariadne Daskalakis curates a multi-facted season from April to October. On July 19 she will perform with pianist Mariangela Vacatello and clarinetist Jose-Luis Estelles in a collaborative concert with the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte. The concert with works by Henze, Schubert and Khatchaturian, begins at 18:00 in the Palazzo Ricci Salone.

Highlights of the 2025 season included a choreographed concert premiere at the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in July, International Masterclasses for young professionals and advanced students, the Festival Academy in September with concerts in the Palazzo Ricci and San Biagio, the Chamber Music Week in late September and the "Arts Laboratory" also in September.

In 2026 Palazzo Ricci once again welcomes an array of exciting International Masterclasses and musical and multi-disciplinary concerts, including the production of the opera "Don Chischiotte" by Hans-Werner Henze with Premiere at the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte on July 18.

2025 saw the launch of Ariadne Daskalakis's performance project with all 6 works for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach combined with new solo works. Thank you to the "Haus der Musik" Innsbruck for commissioning 2 new works by Fabio Nieder: "Musik der Verschwundenen Verse" ("Music of Lost Verses") and "Hanferntelied" ("Harvest Song"). A great traversal!

In 2025 startete Ariadne Daskalakis' Konzertprojekt mit allen 6 Werke für Solovioline von Johann Sebastian Bach zusammen mit neuen Solowerken für Violine. Ein großer Dank an das "Haus der Musik" Innsbruck für die Kompositionsaufträge an Fabio Nieder und die daraus entstandenen Uraufführungen von "Musik der Verschwundenen Verse" und das "Hanferntelied". Eine große musikalische Reise auf und mit der Solovioline!
